PCOS EVIDENCE-BASED GUIDELINES

The International evidence-based guideline for the assessment and management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) was first developed in 2018 and updated in 2023 with the input of over 3,000 health professionals, along with women with PCOS, from six continents and 71 countries internationally.

The guideline aims to provide comprehensive recommendations for the assessment and management PCOS. They offer evidence-based recommendations, clinical consensus recommendations, and practice points to inform health professionals working with women with PCOS. 

Topics covered include:

  • Screening, diagnostic and risk assessment and life stages
  • Prevalence, screening and management of psychological features
    and models of care
  • Lifestyle management
  • Management of non-fertility features
  • Assessment and treatment of infertility

To accompany the International evidence-based guideline for the assessment and management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a range of easy-to-understand resources have been developed for women with PCOS, based on the guideline evidence.

ASK PCOS APP

Developed in conjunction with the PCOS guideline, the AskPCOS App is a comprehensive, evidence-based App for women with PCOS, to help them better manage their condition.  The App was developed by the leading PCOS experts worldwide and co-designed with individuals living with PCOS. 

The App includes: 

  • easy to understand, evidence-based information on PCOS
  • a question prompt list to help you when talking to health professionals
  • a symptoms tracker and analysis tool to help you understand the condition and your body
  • a discussion forum to connect to others with PCOS
